Description

There are two main types of solar air conditioners:

1- Solar-Powered Absorption Chillers: These air conditioners use a thermal energy conversion process instead of a traditional compressor-based system. Absorption chillers use heat energy, rather than electricity, to generate cooling. Solar thermal collectors capture sunlight and heat a special fluid, which then drives the cooling process. 2- Solar-Powered Conventional Air Conditioners: These systems are similar to traditional air conditioners, but they have additional solar panels to provide some or all of the electricity needed to run the unit. The PV panels generate electricity during daylight hours, which powers the air conditioner’s compressor and other components. Excess electricity can be stored in batteries or fed back into the grid.
